The UnCommon Divide

The last election confirmed for the Democrats their belief that the majority of voters are low information yahoos and have the memory capacity of a gnat. And so, they have advanced or attempted to pass their most toxic and radical of policies. In the end, they hope that these voters will forget or they be convinced that it was actually the right all along that did the harm. And with the help of a dangerously corrupt media cabal, it works...sometimes. Last year, in Virginia, we witnessed the most confounding example of this disconnection from reality play out with the disastrous results of the last election. Many of the good people who worked hard to avoid this outcome, were crushed. The results remain a devastating indictment on our fellow Virginians and calls into question why we should even bother. But it should be considered that whether we stay the course or not, these bad policies advanced by the corrupt left will continue, whether we are in the fight or not. It's just that for those who quit, they end up supporting and consenting to all the left is advancing by their silence and their absence.

The political landscape is filled with many different kinds of people with ever shifting attitudes. But, in general, we are dealing with 4 basic groups whose mindset divide and confounds us.

  1. Dazed and confused. These are people with the gnat like attention spans who don't have a sense of who did what and don't really care. They do care about the immediate and what's before them. They can and do respond to common sense problems and solutions that affect them directly. If the bad policies and who created those policies are presented to them in an easy and clear fashion with simple proof, they will listen and respond. Keep it plain and simple with honest proof. Then they can be salvaged.

  2. Rip Van Winkles. These are the people who vote Democrat because that's what their family has always done come hell or high water. These die-hard loyalists have not realized that the party of their parents has long ago been eviscerated by left wing crazies and thugs and bears no resemblance to the party of their fathers. These people can be reached by speaking strictly on the issues so as to not trigger them into the learned response of rejecting anything that counters left-wing dogma. Kitchen table talk without politics, without Republican and Democrat labels, without right vs. left jargon. If these people are basically good people and are just locked into their voting tradition, you might be able to appeal to the traditional issues that the Democrats use to embrace and bring them back because the Democrat of today does not embrace those same values. This is why even Democrat leaders of the Democratic Party are leaving this party. Some even have been serving in the Trump White House or advising him. The great Democrat icon of the last 7 decades and Harvard famous attorney, Alan Morton Dershowitz is now a Trump supporter and advisor. Tulsi Gabbard who ran for President for the Democrat Party in 2020 worked as National Security Secretary. Robert Kennedy has the Democrat legacy that approaches royalty is now working in the Trump administration. Trump himself and most of his family have been New York Democrats for most of his life. So, these facts can leverage people out of their Rip Van Winkle slumber and bring back to a sane and good place.

  3. Ostrich Lifers. This group is the toughest one to crack. You have dealt with this bunch. They are the ones that don't know nothing and want to know nothing. And if you try to tell them something, they quickly talk about the weather, or a football game or some local gossip. They don't want to know. They are quick to put their heads in the sand and keep them there until you leave. They will change the subject and resist any knowledge you are trying to impart. The logic goes that as long as they don't know, they are not obligated to do anything. They want plausible deniability. The core of this mindset is that they believe that they really can't do anything to change what's happening and if they don't know anything, then they can be outraged as aggrieved innocents. The center of this impasse lies in their belief that nothing they can do can make a difference. This is actually a strong and sensible position, but it can be refuted by history. History is filled with We the People making a difference when the Ostrich people were saying that all was lost. They said it in 1776 about America, but We the People prevailed. They said it in Sept. of 1980 about the election, when Reagan was almost double digits behind, but we the People prevailed. They said it about Trump in 2016 and 2024, but we the People prevailed. So, we can and have won. So, it is a matter of belief and not worrying about the polls or the media talk. The story is always about all of us doing the little things that lead to winning. That's how we won in the past and that is the path to victory right now. Hopefully, history and honest truth over what we are facing will win these ostrich people over.

  4. The Insane, The Perverted and The Criminal. These are small bands of crazies that dominate the news cycle. They are intimating. They are violent. They are crazy. They are criminal. They riot, loot, burn, kill. They support Muslim terrorist. They are enemies of Israel, Jews and America. They support open borders and keeping illegal aliens and their criminal operations intact without worrying about deportations. They support voter fraud and defunding the police. Best advice. Treat them like vermin, avoid eye contact, move away slowly and then, run like the wind till you are far, far away.

So, we do what we can. Convince the ones we can, help them to vote and mobilize with other good people and groups to push a win in Va. We need a good backlash to the toxic policies that the Democrats are pushing. They lied about being moderates and they are doing senseless damage through taxes, fees, costs of living and weakening law enforcement. It is America's 250th year, I can think of no better ending of this historic year than a good outcome of this election that would make proud all those who fought and died for us to reach year 250 and make us worthy of their sacrifice. And lastly, Vote No on the 3 amendments. The terrible amendments need to be voted down. (Click on our amendments episode on Splash of Tea at vatp.org or VATP at YouTube or Rumble channels.)
